1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Kakeibo (the “Service”), operated by AlphaBlue Thailand (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service is available at kakei.io.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Kakeibo. If you are between 16 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have a parent or legal guardian agree to these Terms on your behalf.
3. Your account
- You sign in using a one-time code or magic link sent to your email.
- You are responsible for keeping your email account secure. Anything done from a session authenticated with your email address is treated as your activity.
- We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms, repeatedly fail authentication, or are used for abuse, fraud, or unlawful activity.
4. The service
Kakeibo lets you record transactions, attach receipts, organize accounts, and (on supported plans) share data with team members. We do not provide:
- Banking or financial services. Kakeibo does not move money, hold funds, or replace your bank.
- Financial, tax, or legal advice. Information shown is for personal recordkeeping only and should not be relied on for decisions where professional advice is required.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. For material changes that meaningfully reduce a paid feature you depend on, we will give reasonable advance notice and, where appropriate, an option to cancel and receive a pro-rated credit.
5. Plans and billing
Free plan
- 1,000 transactions per month
- Up to 5 accounts
- 500 MB storage for receipts
- Free forever, no card required
Paid plans
Paid plans (currently Solo and Family) are charged in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically until canceled. Listed prices are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
Free trials
Each paid plan starts with a free trial. A valid payment method may be required to start the trial. We will not charge you until the trial ends, and you can cancel during the trial to avoid being billed for the next paid period.
Add-ons
Storage and team-seat add-ons are billed alongside your plan and pro-rated on activation and removal.
Payment processor
We use Stripe to process payments. Their terms also apply to the handling of your card information.
Cancellation
- You can cancel at any time from Settings.
- Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, then automatically downgrades to Free (or, for Family-owned teams, read-only mode — see Section 8).
Refunds
- We do not issue refunds for partial billing periods.
- If you change tiers mid-period, unused time on the old tier is applied as credit on your next invoice.
- Mandatory consumer-law refund rights in your jurisdiction (for example, the EU 14-day right of withdrawal) continue to apply.
Late or failed payment
If a charge fails, we may retry during a limited billing-recovery period and notify you by email. If payment still fails, your plan may downgrade automatically; your data is preserved and you can resume the plan later by updating your payment method.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, infringing, or harmful purposes
- Attempt to access another user's data without permission
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or place an unreasonable load on the Service
- Resell, sublicense, or impersonate the Service
- Upload malware or content you do not have the right to share
7. Your content
You retain ownership of every transaction, receipt, and other piece of content you put into Kakeibo. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, back up, and process this content solely so we can provide the Service to you and to the team members you have shared it with.
You can export your content from Settings, and we will send a download link to your email. You can also delete your account from Settings once the self-service deletion flow is available, or by contacting support@kakei.io in the meantime.
8. Teams and shared data
- Family-plan owners can create teams (currently up to 1 team, up to 5 members unless seat add-ons are purchased) and invite anyone — including Free users — as Owner, Admin, Member, or Viewer.
- When you share an account with a team, every member of that team you have granted access to can read (and, depending on role, edit) the transactions on that account.
- Sharing is opt-in per account: accounts you do not share remain private.
- Quotas — including the Free plan's monthly transaction cap — follow the user who created each transaction. Joining a team does not raise your own limits.
- If a Family plan is canceled or downgraded, the teams it owns enter read-only mode at the end of the billing period. No data is deleted; transactions cannot be added or edited until the plan is reactivated, or ownership is transferred to another Family member before the period ends.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, particularly Section 6 (Acceptable use). On termination:
- We will generally give you a reasonable opportunity to export your data, except where suspension is for abuse, fraud, or legal reasons that require immediate termination.
- Outstanding fees remain due.
- Sections that are intended to survive (Sections 7, 10, 11, 12, and 13) continue to apply.
You can terminate your own account at any time from Settings.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, except those that cannot be disclaimed under applicable law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data shown is accurate for tax, accounting, or financial-planning purposes.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, or goodwill.
- Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service in any 12-month period is capped at the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in that period or (b) USD 100.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or your statutory consumer rights.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Thailand, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes shall be brought before the courts of Bangkok, Thailand, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence grants you a different forum.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes, we will give at least 90 days' advance notice by email and/or via an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the new Terms. If you do not accept them, you can cancel and we will pro-rate any unused paid time.
